The Magaphone ("we," "us") operates the website at themagaphone.com (the "Site"), a satirical text-style transformer. This policy explains what information we handle and how. By using the Site you agree to this policy.

Information we handle

Text you submit. When you use the translator, the text you enter is sent to our server and on to our third-party AI provider to generate a rewrite. We do not require an account and we do not build a profile of you. Do not submit confidential or personal information you wouldn't want processed by a third-party AI service.
Technical data. To prevent abuse and control costs, we temporarily record a count of requests associated with your network (IP) address. These counters expire automatically (within roughly an hour) and are used only for rate limiting.
Standard server logs. Like most websites, our infrastructure provider may log basic request information for security and reliability.

How we use information

To generate the rewritten text you request.
To enforce per-visitor rate limits and prevent abuse.
To operate, secure, and improve the Site.

Third-party services

We send the text you submit to OpenRouter and the underlying AI model (currently a DeepSeek model) to produce the rewrite. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies. We use Cloudflare to host and serve the Site.

Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To protect the Site from automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile may collect and process certain information from your device and browser (such as a challenge token and related signals) to tell humans apart from bots. This processing is carried out by Cloudflare and is governed by Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Policy. Turnstile is designed to minimize data collection and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Cookies and advertising

We may display ads through Google AdSense. In that case:

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at www.aboutads.info.

Where required (for example, for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), we present a consent prompt before non-essential cookies are used, and you can manage your choices there.

Children
